Six Sleeps

Believe it or not, Angela and I actually managed to get our act together and on Wednesday the 27th of April (that’s next Wednesday) we are leaving the quiet security of the Shire and heading out into the great unknown, as we travel Australia by 4WD for the next 12 or so months. It is a happy and sad time for us, esspicially because we will be saying goodbye to so many friends and good times.

On Tuesday the 26th of April (that’s next Tuesday) we would love to catch up with anyone who wants to catch up with us at the Historic Como Hotel on Cemona Road, Como for a drink or two and some final fellowship before we leave. Angela, River and I will be there from about 7:30pm, if the weather is nice, out on the balcony area somewhere.

For those that can’t make it, come and see us at church (the Janalli Anglican Church) on Good Friday (10am service), Saturday night (5:30 service) or Sunday night (7pm service). Alternatively just drop round to our place in Oyster Bay, I’ll be out the front working frantically to get the Patrol finished and Angela will be inside working frantically to get everything packed so I don’t just take it to the tip on Wednesday morning.

We are looking forward to seeing you all, sometime over the long weekend.

As a small side note, we have added a few things to the site over the last couple of weeks.

The first is a subscription service. If you put in your name and email address in the panel asking for it on the side, you will get an email everytime we make a new post, so you will never miss any of the action. We encourage everyone to sign up, mostly because then the list in the admin panel of the site will be really long and we will feel really popular.

Those keen of eye might have noticed the ‘Where are we now’ widget on the side of the page. That widget is linked to the Twitter account, @SpotBandAandR which is then linked to our Spot Messenger (www.findmespot.com for more info). Everytime we press the ‘OK’ button it will post up a link to our coordinated and a google map of where we are. Pretty fancy huh? Consider this an open invitation then to join us at any stage of the trip. Just look up the coordinates and map and make your way there. We’ll cook you dinner if you get in late.

We have also added a gallery, although there are still some glitches. Not in the website, just in our understanding of how it all works. But we’ll get it all sorted eventually.

Six sleeps to go!

Brendan, Angela and River

Ha… just checked out the ‘where are you now’ thingy. Oyster Bay – awesome. Couldn’t zoom in close enough to figure out the address though…
